Lisa takes part in the historic Now Be Here #4 DC/MD/VA photo. 465 Women Artists in the DC, Maryland and Virginia region showed up to represent the amazingly vibrant and woman-powered DMV artistic community the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) in Washington, DC. The event was covered in the Washington Post.

Lisa won a 2017 American Art Award. She was named one of 300 of the Wrold's Best Contemporary Artists. She competed with artists from 56 countries and placed 5th in her category of manipulated photography landscape or still life. Her award and photograph were featured on the Huffington Post.

Two of Lisa's photos won awards at the National Auctioneers Association/USA TODAY Marketing Competition in the categories of Estate & Personal Property and Auction Crowd. She photographed an auction for Chad Metzger, CAI, Metzger Property Services, North Manchester, Ind., last year and he entered the photos in the competition. Here is the press release announcing the winners. It was a juried competition of marketing and advertising panelists with backgrounds in branding, promotion, public relations, and graphic design.
Lisa's photograph "Dream Lounge on H Street" has been selected by the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series for the Washington, DC competition. The Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series in partnership with Russell and Danny Simmons' RUSH Philanthropic Arts Foundation Washington, DC regional event will be held at International Visions Gallery on October 13th from 6 - 9pm. Over 160 images from 5 countries were submitted for the juried exhibition and 61 were selected by juror Rene De Guzman. Lisa fulfills assignment of a lifetime working as the official photographer for the President of Mali during his visit to Washington. She covered all meetings and events, including his meeting in the Oval Office at the White House with President George W. Bush and at the Pentagon with Deputy Secretary Gordan England.

Lisa's has four photographs in the juried International Peace Day Exhibition at the Richard J. Daley Center in Chicago, Il. They will hang in the center from September 15-26, 2008
Lisa is selected for a juror award for her image "Resting Place" for the Glimpses in Time: An International Juried Photography Exhibit in Honor of Gordon Parks at the Joyce Gordon Gallery in Oakland, CA. The show was juried by Stephen Wirtz of the prestigious Stephen Wirtz Gallery in San Francisco, CA. Over 350 images from 9 countries and 29 states were submitted for the exhibition and 82 were selected. She will fly to Oakland for the Opening Reception where she will receive her award.
Lisa has four images selected for the juried ?Riots are the Language of the Unheard? Exhibition at Historical Society of Washington in Washington, DC. Her work will hang in the exhibit from June - December 2008.
Lisa's image "Resting Place" has been selected for the juried member exhibition Exposure: A Vision of Places and Faces at the Art Institute of Washington. Opening Reception will take place on May 17th from 2:00-5:30pm. The show will run from May 10 - May 30, 2008.

he Opening Reception for Lisa's first solo exhibition "The Language of Light: Photos by Lisa Fanning" takes place at Earlham College's Leeds Gallery in Richmond, Indiana today.
Lisa's photographs are chosen to launch the website of the new Photography Gallery at the Joyce Gordon Gallery in Oakland, CA.
Lisa attends the opening reception of Glimpses in Time: An International Juried Photography Exhibit in Honor of Gordon Parks at the Joyce Gordon Gallery in Oakland, CA. "Water Dance", Lisa's signature photograph, was selected for the competition juried by Stephen Wirtz of the prestigious Stephen Wirtz Gallery in San Francisco.
Lisa's photo "Passin' Through" is selected for the relaunch of TVOne Online. It can be found with 16 other photos in the "I See Black People"section of the website(# 12).
Lisa appears in two newspapers. The Palladium-Item newspaper in Richmond, Indiana wrote an article about her life and the Exposure Group Photography Exhibit. A group photo and article about the photography exhibit appeared in theMetro Elite section of The Washington African-American newspaper.
Five of Lisa's portraits were selected for the juried Exposure Group: African-American Photographers Exhibition at the Art Institute of Washington from May 5 - mid-June. The opening reception is May 5, 2007 from 3-6pm.
